"The Nurse"

The Nurse

On a hill in a quiet town
A young nurse makes her rounds
She flits from bed to bed
Placing pillows under heads
A vision of grace and care
Gentle eyes, and skin so fair
But when the moonlight streams
Bringing forth restless dreams
The patients awake to find
A gruesome figure by their side
The nurse abandons her disguise
To stand unmasked and un-eyed
Before her patients, gripped with fright
Shudder their last, gasp, and die!
